envelope problems

Hi

I have app 50 innstalations of office 2003 with outlook...and there is some
problem
with the envelope in the down right corner not appearing.

After a while it stops appearing when my users get new mail., we get the
small message thats fades away but not the envelope.

This prob is on w2k and wxp machines. strange.. a reinnstall of office
does not correct the problem

Anyone know a reason or a fix for this??

With Xp you might need to ensure the icon is set to always show in TaskBar
options. Right-click the Start button, select Properties, Taskbar tab, if
hide inactive icons is checked select Customize .. locate the "you have new
unopened ..." entry and set it to always show.

In Outlook check in Tools | Options | Preferences tab | Email Options |
Advanced email options .. make sure the envelope icon checkbox is checked.

All this may not work. Sometimes Windows just doesn't show all the available
Systray icons. Removing some that are displayed might help.
