Entry in cells error, Excell

L

Llynda

After selecting a cell, if the first entry is to be a
forward slash, it will not enter. After attempting to
insert a forward slash as the first entry, the full stop;
the comma; and the 'm' will also not enter. The 'n' will
not enter untill selected for the second time, and then
the cell will accept data normally. All operations from
then on are OK, entering a forward slash as the first
character in the cell becomes possible after deleting the
other data from that cell.
How do I fix this?

If you type an ' as your first letter it will allow you
to the type in what ever you want. The ' will not show
up in the cell.

Hope this helps

Hi Lynda!

It's a Lotus transition thing.

To get Excel to accept / as a first entry, use:

Tools > Options > Transition
Remove check from Transition Formula entry.

Hi Llynda!

Glad you're sorted now. It's commendable to always try to solve
problems yourself but give up and post after a couple of hours
(including, if appropriate, examples of what you have and what you
want and what you've tried).
