Entire Network>Microsoft Windows Network : Icon not showing

Guest

I tried to set up a wireless Home Network with one desktop and three laptop
computers.
However, on the desktop, I cannot see the "Microsoft Windows Network" Icon
in the "Entire Network" folder.
I cannot see any computers of the work group even though the laptops see
themselves as member of the workgroup, but not other computers.
It is possible to access the internet from all computers through the
wireless access point, but the file and printer sharing is not possible on
two laptops.
Any suggestion?

Pete,

Do you have the correct network components and services loaded and activated?

Also, check for misconfigured / overlooked firewalls, and for registry setting
restrictanonymous.
Misconfigured / overlooked firewalls:

Registry setting restrictanonymous:

If no help, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each computer,
and we'll diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and
follow instructions precisely:

Please let us know if any of these suggestions are of any help. What you learn
may help others in the future, and that's the purpose of these forums.

Chuck, thanks for the detailed and comprehensive support. I went through it
step by step and found out that I had made a mistake with the basic settings
of the router on their respective web page.

Pete,

A basic connectivity problem (such as what is caused by a router
misconfiguration) is always another possibility. Thanks for letting us know.
