entering text in excel

My question is about entering text in excel. I want to make a column that has
Alphabet letters in parenthesis - for example - (A), (B), (C) etc. when I
type
(A) and (B) in a cell - that's ok when I type (C) - it types as @. Why is
this happening.

goto 'Tools ' Autocorrection' and remove this entry from the list or
disable autocorrection
 
or, if you only want to reverse the one auto correct, just type CTRL-z
after auto correct does the conversion.
