entering data and hitting "enter" data disappears and

I have a couple of forms in datasheet format, two fields entry date and
"notes, the note field is text. I can enter data
but when I hit enter it disappears, if I then tab out somewhere else and
then back to the form, it's there. By clicking down to the next row in the
datasheet the data will save/stay.....any ideas, I'm stumped

Using the <Enter> key can, in some situations (sounds like you found one!)
can insert a CarriageReturn.

The reason you see nothing is because your control is showing what comes
AFTER the CR. The reason you see something when you come back is because
Access is looking at what is stored BEFORE the CR.

thanks Jeff, indeed I think I found one, as I have another datasheet in a
form that behaves normally ie, press enter, data stays and the cursor drops
down to the next row, I've looked at both property sheets of the anomaly and
the "normal" acting datasheets, both are the same... . bizarre behavior
