Enter your Product Key, but where is it!

I've had my laptop (Hp Pavilion) for about a month now. Its a Vista, and
everytime I go to open a Microsoft Office program it asks for my Product Key.
I typed in the one on the back of my laptop but it says that it is wrong.

I don't know where the product key they are asking for is.

And now I can use Microsoft Word which is terrible considering I can't do my
homework.

What can I do?

HP usually puts both Windows and Office stickers on the bottom of the
laptop. Do you have both stickers? If you only have a Windows sticker or if
if the Office sticker key does not work, then you need to contact the
retailer or HP as they should provide the correct product key for OEM apps.

On the back there are 2 stickers one says "Windows Vista Home Premium" it
says Product Key and has 25 numbers and letters on it, and the other says
"Product: Paviolion..."

Am I missing one? Should one say "Microsoft Office"? And if I am should I
call Tech Support or?

Office has its own product number. If you have Office as a pre-installed
version the probability is that it is a trial version and that trial version
has now expired. A product number (other than a new product number) is not
going to help much in such circumstances. If in doubt speak to whoever
supplied the PC.

As Graham says, if there is no sticker for the Office product, then you
probably only had a trial version which has now time expired. If you
purchased a full OEM version of Office, it will be listed on the invoice as
Office OEM and you need to contact the supplier for the key. However, I have
never know HP to not stick on the appropriate OEM label.

Yes, I am starting to notice that I have a trial version of a student 2007
product. I dont need anything fancy I just need to be able to use Mircosoft
Word.

Regardless of whether you need fancy stuff or not, once the trial version
expires, it's done for until you pay for it. Word isn't free these days. My
HP system came with Works but not Word. It may have had the trial version of
Office but if it did, I uninstalled that right from the start. Do you have
Works?

If you just need Word, then you have several options. If it has to be Word
2007, then the best way is to purchase Office 2007 Students and Teachers. If
you are happy with an earlier version of Word, then look at the Works Suite.
