Enlarging Type-face.

The maximum size typeface on Word is 72pt. I can enlarge this with the zoom
but this also enlarges the background. I wish to print an extra large
heading of 144pt. on A4. Is this possible?

Thanks JS - I followed your advice but as soon as I click on the cursor to
start typing the size reverts back to 72pt - it won't stay fixed. tedd

Works for me, as does 216 pt type. Below see Times New Roman 144 pt in Word
2000 as presented on A4 paper.

Works fine for me, as does 216 pt and all points in-between. Using Times
New Roman, A4 paper size, and Word 2000.

This could be a font problem rather than a problem specific to your Word
installation. Try a microsoft.public.* newsgroup for Word.

If you move the curser to a new location, you go to whatever font
setting was there. When you change the font setting the next letter(s) and
space(s) you type are entered into a "zone" of that new font. If you move
the curser out of that "zone" then it will make letters and spaces in the
font for that zone.

Put the cursor where you want the big text:
Put the cursor in the size box where the number are: Do not bring down the
dropdown list. The size numbers will become highlighted.

Type in a number.

Press Enter

That font is now set for wherever the cursor is positioned.

Works the other way, too; you can go all the way down to 2 points; never
tried 1<g>.
