On XP Home, non responding programs cannot be ended in
Task Manager. Only solution so far is to reset and
reboot. Any suggestions on how to get Task Manager "End
Task" button/function to shut down non-responding probrams?

Thanks... Bill

You could use taskkill, or older kill.exe. Both of these will let you
kill the apps.

You can try to go to the Process tab in Task Manager and right click
the process you want to kill and select End Process or End Process
Tree...

If you now what the file is called u can sometimes end it
by using the proccesses tab and looking for the file used.
