turned on "encryption" feature while messing around
(familiarizing) with Outlook 2003. want to turn it off
but can't figure how. now, when i send an email I get a
message about a "digital signature" and have to turn off
the encryption feature on a message by message basis.

how can i get ALL settings for security back to the
original defaults? including the default settings for all
zones? help!

Michele,

If you open up Outlook and select "Tools", then "Options" and then the
Security tab. In there by default you will have the third item down out of
the four check boxes checked. The other three should not be checked. In
the zone settings (if you have changed them). click custom Levels, for for
each item, in the bit at the bottom that says Reset, it will have in the
drop down the default setting, just click the "Reset" button, to reset the
Zone settings. You should note that these levels relate to the Internet
Explorer Zone levels, and that if you have any special settings on them,
Reseting them may lose those settings for Internet Explorer also.

Hope this helps
