Encryption on previously backup up files

My harddrive crashed in August and I had to reformat
(write zeros to the drive) then reinstalled Xp Pro. I
have a full backup of my hardrive prior to crash.

After I restored some encrypted data files (from my
backup from before the reinstall), I found I could not
decrypt them.

Is there a way to decrypt them or are these file lost to
me forever? Keep in mind that I have a FULL backup with
all settings and keys (whereever they are) from the time
these file were encrypted.

Hi

If your backup contains the user profile folders for the user that encrypted
the files, you might be able to save the files. Take a look at this site:
