ENCRYPTION - Oh Man, I've done it now!

Folks, PLEASE someone help!

I encrypted a folder (and all the contents within) using the Windows XP encryption (Just right clicked on it, advanced, and said "encrypt contents to secure data")...

All was fine...

Then my Domain account got hosed on the domain controller. Our Network Admin deleted and Recreated my account - but of course the new account has a new SID.

Now I can't decrypt or even read/use my files in that folder!!!

Is there ANY way of fixing this?

THANK YOU!

Normally the domain admin is designated as a "recovery agent" - check
with your admin again, see if he/she can decrypt them.

The recovery cert thumbprint could be viewed using Explorer Add User UI. Or
it can be viewed using EFSINFO /U /C filename.

OK - I can see the thumbprint using the command line you gave me.

But how do I decrypt it using the thumbprint?

And what do mean by "could be viewed using Explorer Add User UI" ? I don't see where this can be done - please elaborate...

THANK YOU!
