I am aware software exists that will encrypt a hard drive or partition.
Q.
Does a software exist which will protect sensitive data stored on a CDRW or
Flashdrive?

If possible, with strong encryption.

TrueCrypt http://www.truecrypt.org/

Make a 700mb volume, mount it and load it with files. Dismount and burn.
