Encrypting .pst file in Outlook 2007

How do I enable "native" encryption for .PST file in Outlook 2007? I
know that I can use BitLocker or EFS, but I am wondering if there a
native function in Outlook that provides encryption?

If I'm not mistaken, Outlook's default behavior when creating a PST file is
to use "compressible encryption". While this link is for Outlook 2003, the
options listed at the bottom will apply to Outlook 2007.

You know, I've often wondered about that. I don't think that has much to do
with privacy encryption because one can transfer any PST from one Outlook to
another and open it there without any keys.

I moved the PST to my desktop, and I was able to open it in Outlook
without providing any password/decryption key. This is bad.

Outlook has no username or password.

Honestly, I don't know as I have never thought about asking contacts I know
inside Microsoft on whether or not "compressible encryptions" or "high
encryption" meets any industry/government standards. I'll add it to my list
of questions to ask.

has been removed from the product.

There's no encryption built into Outlook, as far as I know, but neo has
