Encrypted files on NTFS partition

Hi!

I encrypted data files on the NTFS partition. Then I had
to re-install Windows XP... Now I cannt access them, I
keep getting an "Access Denied" Message... and I cannot
change the encryption option becoz access is denied.

If you did not export either your own or the recovery agent (if you created
one) keys and certificates then you will not be able to recover the
encrypted files.

Do you have a full and good backup of the system prior to reinstalling it ?
If so you may be able to recover the files.
