Enabling Networking on an Image

T

thx

Hi All,

I'm having a tough time getting my networking up and running.

Ive enabled:

- Basic TCP/IP Networking
- Network Command Shell
- Network Command Shell Interface Context
- Net.exe Utility

Does anyone know what components are needed for ipconfig support?

Or any other components that I'm missing?

TIA

For ipconfig you need the TCP/IP Utilities component.
I would strongly recommend resolving dependencies, at least temporarily.
You can always go back to your unresolved image later if you want to.
You can use filters in target designer to find specific files in components.

Thx Adora,

I can successfully build and check dependancies, I'm unable to get an IP
and thought of using ipconfig to verify my settings.

Is there a base that will "guarantee" ;) Networking support?

TIA,

The "IP Router Monitor Library" component is often missing from a configuration to get ip tools working.

If doesn't help, you may want to follow suggestions from this article:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...ml/tchWorkingWithNetshInWindowsXPEmbedded.asp

Thanks KM, going to try it.

BTW, I use TIA (Thanks In Advance) ;).

I guess I could use a Signature.

thinXP works for me. ;)

BTW, it's great when people post solutions and also articles to read,
there is alot of info out there and it's helpful when one is directed to
non-fluff info.

TIA,

thinXP
