I read somewhere that it's a good idea to "disable"
network connections that aren't being used----so I did.
Now I want to use the 1394 but when I try to view the
connection in "My Network Places" nothing shows up.
Any Ideas?

Right click My Computer, select properties, hardware,
device manager and enable IEEE 1394.

Jim,
Thanks for responding. I tried that but couldn't find
the 1394 under "ports"-----any ideas where it could be
hidden?

Thanks

Hi,

It seemed that you have removed the firewire instead of
disabled it. Run add new hardware wizard, let windows
search for it. When prompted to confirm that the hardware
is installed, click yes. In the drop down menu, select
the firewire 1394 and let window install the drivers.

For email, rmove the first letter m from the email
address.

Good luck.

Peter
