Hi

Over ISDN (PPP, MS-CHAPv2) a Linux-PC connects to my XP-System. Normally, a
128-bit MPPE encryption was used.

But since few days, the MPPE encryption seems to be disabled. No MPPE
encryption is used. The only thing I have changed is the option "allow
calling computer to specify ist own IP address" (Incoming Connections
Properties / Incoming TCP/IP Properties)!! Now I changed the option again and
again, but MPPE 128-bit was never applied!

Where can I configure my encryption? What's my fault?

Thanks

Armin

How do you know that it is not being used? Is any encryption shown as being
used? Does this happen if another Windows computer connects via VPN?

If there is a connection, under <network connections> the connected ISDN-line
is listed. If MPPE was used, there was an entry <MPPE 128 encrypted>. Now,
it's no entry about encryption.

It's no difference whether the calling pc is a Windows computer or a Linux
computer.

Weird. You might want to try deleting the current VPN connection on the XP
Pro computer and creating a new one to see if it makes a difference or not.
Also check the logs via Event Viewer to see if there are any warning/errors
that are logged at the time the VPN client connects that may help.
