Enable autoplay in XP

I'm running XP (w/sp2) and have lately had a problem with
CD's not starting automatically (both data & music).
Autoplay seems to be enabled, but still nothing. Any help
would be appreciated.

Thanks- handy little sucker, that repair wizard. Audio
CD's now work fine, BUT- DVD's will still not autorun,
nor will program CD's (with autorun.inf files)- can you
help me with that, too?
