emptying recycling bin

when i empty my XP recycle bin...a problem emerges...XP says that
it will take longer and longer even if I have 1 k file...Hard Disk
starts to run... and run... and the only way to stop all that..is by
shutting down the PC... any advice please ?

This may not be the answer you are looking for, but one way to empty your
recycle bin is to perform a disk cleanup. That will empty your recycle bin,
and your temp files, etc.

I am trying to solve the problem that is being created when trying to
empty the Rec Bin.
Anyways I appreciate your time and support.

The recycle bin has a size limit, and once you have come within that limit
and then try to delete a file or files that are larger than what the recycle
bin can manage you get that error. So, you can either changes the limit, or
turn the recycle bin off, or you can try to purge your files from a
different source.
