Emptying "Deleted Items" Folder

I am having trouble emptying my "Deleted Items" folder. When I select all the
messages and try to permanently delete them I get a message saying an "uknown
error has ocurred", and no messages are deleted. Help! It's starting to
frustrate me (a little).

Try deleting them one at a time?

While viewing the Deleted Items folder go to the Edit menu>Empty Deleted
Items Folder.
 
What users are saying is that they are following standard procedures we've
done for years...right click, Empty Folder but it is BROKEN. KB941090 is
titled 'Messages stuck in Outbox' which is not the issue. I have only
experienced this problem today, 1-22-2010 after a Windows update! tyvm,
Andrea.
