be able to read the event logs on a web server we have?

What do I need to do (grant permission to?) to allow a web designer to
be able to read the event logs on a web server we have?

Application and system logs should be in Windows 2000 and windows 2003
avilable for him by default.

If he has to have right to read security log and this is Windows 2000
system You have to give him right to "Manage Audit Logs" .

For Windows 2003 You can set SD for each Event log:

So I should create a group and give "manage audit logs" to that group?
