I hate emoticons. They do my head in. How can I delete all incoming
emails which contain emoticons? Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks for the response.
How do I actually write the rule? I can't figure out how to tell it to
look for even one single emoticon.
Also, the messages I really want to kill are the ones from poeple
using Incredimail, which inserts a picture at the foot of the email,
advertsing FREE Emoticons.
I spent a few hours trying to figure out how to delete such messages,
but could not solve it.
Hey, thanks for the note, and especially for not including the wink
(or any other emoticon).
I think if we ever re-introduce burning at the stake, or hanging
people in chains, those with a liking for emoticons will get my vote
for going to the top of the hit list ;-)
Version of Outlook is 2002, running on XP 2002. Other details, I'm not
sure about, as system is in the office.
check the "read all messages in plain text".
Sorry, I couldn't resist it, and I just wondered if you'd pick up on
it.
Hey, that's an excellent suggestion - just followed it, and it works
in Outlook Express v.6. I hope it works in Outlook 2002 as well. If it
does, sign me up for your fan club, and I'll buy your next book.
I don't have OL2002 handy, but see if you can go to tools, options,
preferences, email options, and check the "read all messages in plain
text".

I'll check out the tool that you mentioned. Is it something that you
use? Do you recommend it?
I don't mind the "", "", ";-)" so much - it's the flashing
emoticons that bother me.
