Embedding Windows Media Player

I am going to be posting some multimedia content on a web site and question
what is the "best" way to present this content for every viewer. If I embed
the WMP right onto the web page, does that present itself to everyone no
matter what player they have on their own PC; and additionally, will it
stream the content from the server for people who are on dial-up connections?
Thanks so much for the help! This forum has been like a virtual classroom
for me.

It is best in this case probably to provide a "low bandwidth" (dialup) and "high
bandwidth" (cable/DSL/ISDN) versions of the media files so dialup users are not
sitting for hours waiting for an 80meg file that is actually 30 seconds in
length! (OK, exaggeration, but you get the point).

Not every media player will play Windows Media Files. nor will Windows Media
Player play *every* other media file. A "war" would break out over Microsoft
monopolising the market.

So, users will need Windows Media Player to play WMP files (i.e. they will need
the "plugin" for WMP.).

I believe WMP does stream content, so yes it will work (although dialup is not
really best for streaming media).
