Embedding a BMP. "Package" on XP, "PBrush" on Vista. Access 2003.

I've read through a few of the threads regarding this issue already, and I
have only seen "solutions" that bypassed the issue, such as linking, or
inserting the image using MS Paint.

When I add a BMP image on my XP desktop, it inserts it as "Package". The
image is then displayed at half-size, with the image name shown underneath.

On my Vista laptop, using the exact same version of Access and Excel (from
which the original data is imported), as well as the same BMP files as on the
desktop, it embeds the image properly.

I don't know what's going on. I do the exact same procedure with both, using
the exact same files and programs... but the results are different. I
generate reports for work, and I prefer to use my desktop. I've been bouncing
my reports off of my laptop just to insert the images! I'm getting sick of
it. Please help!

Hi,

I was wondering if you got your problem resolved?

I am having the same challenge. Actually, when I try to insert a bitmap
image, I get an icon, and when I go to the table, the OLE feild has Package
in it. But if I was to insert an image by double clicking on the feild and
creating a graphic by the paint application, and save it, the feild then
states 'Bitmap'. I can seem to insert a simple bitmap.

How do you change back to
the previous application that was functionaing correctly as an OLE Server
for JPG images or bitmaps?

any suggestions?

Thanks

Frank
