Why package instead of bitmap?

This has been a headache. First of all I'm using Office 2003 student addition
that I bought at the college campus bookstore for one of my classes. There
may not be a solution.

1) First problem was OLE server problem. Wouldn't let me insert a pic at all
without a pop up window coming up. Solved that by configuring the options on
Norton Antivirus.

2) Had to associate .bmp files with with other programs like Microsoft Paint
or Fax viewer. Now it places the bitmap in my form but instead of being a
bitmap image, it's called a package, which displays wrong.

3) Tried reinstalling Office Tools through the custom menu per instructions
of another solution found at this site but the program (?) to be installed or
reinstalled was not available on the student version. It was something like
Microsoft Image Editor.

I can associate bitmap files with any image editor on my computer and it
still comes out as a package in my form. I do not run any image editors other
than what some with XP. Anybody got an idea of what can be done?

Sorry. This is a newsgroup dedicated to questions about Access, the
database program in Office Professional. It appears your question may not
be related to these subjects. The Microsoft help system is not all that
clear and may have misdirected you here.

It is best to ask your questions in a newsgroup dedicated to the
subject of your question. You should find people better able to address
your problem there.

Note: It is always best to indicate the name and version of any
program(s) you may be using when asking a question and also indicate the
operating system (like Windows XP or 98) when you ask a question.
