Embedded wav file won't travel

I tried to embed 2 wav files into PP presentation through Insert-Movies and
Sounds-Sound from File.

The file type of the embedded file is clearly wav. Yet, when I copy the PP
file onto a flash drive and attempt to play from flash drive, the sound does
not play and PP seeks to find the wav file on my origninal hard drive, not
from within the PP file.

Why is the Insert process not auto-embedding the wav within the PP file? Is
there a manual step I have to take to get it to embed rather than link? If
not, how can I troubleshoot this?

Tx for your help.

Tenacity,

powerpoint can only embed .WAV files.

that's what you are using - Good!

powerpoint will only embed .wav files that are below a certain size

your file is probably bigger.

The good news is that you can change the "certain size" setting...

see "quick fix for wav files" on this page

Sounds/Movies don't play, images disappear or links break when I move or
email a presentation

Tenacity,
Have you checked in Tools - options - general tab - next to "Link sounds
with file size greater than" is large enough, 50000 kb is the maximum that
can be embedded.
