If you have the font installed on the system where you are opening the
presentation, you should be able to edit it. If you don't have the *exact*
font installed, you will not be able to edit the file due to new security
constraints in PowerPoint 2003. Fonts are licensed for various types of
embedding. If the font is licensed for viewing only, then the Microsoft
attorneys have interpreted that to mean that PowerPoint 2003 must open the
presentation as Read Only and not allow any change of any kind. You will
not find the same restriction in PowerPoint 2002.
Are you sure that it isn't Compacta Blk BT that you have installed? That's
a different font.
