Embedded Excel not visible

Hi,
I hope someone can help me out here. This is to do with Word 2000 (I know
!!)....

A user has an embedded Excel spreadsheet in a Word document but the
spreadsheet is not visible - all that is visible is the box around the
object. When printed it shows fine, it can be double-clicked and edited
without any issues. The object is not visible in normal layout or print
layout, and I have toggled the Drawing Objects and Picture Placeholders
options within Word.

Has anyone any ideas ?

What happens if the user double-clicks it?
