Embedded audio trouble

I created a .ppt in Powerpoint 2003 and inserted .wav files using
"Insert/Movies and Sounds/Sounds from File" - then saved as .pps , embedding
the audio. I then used the "Package for CD" option and burned to a CD. When
I tried to run the CD on another PC, the audio did not play. It appears that
the .pps is still looking for the link to the original sound file, which was
on a network drive on the original PC. I'm sure this is "Operator error" but
I've retraced my steps and can't seem to find the step I must have missed.
PLEASE help asap... I'm on a deadline.

WAV files *can* be embedded, but it depends on two things - - file size and the
limit you have set. First, go to Tools > Options > General. What do you have
set as "Link sounds with file size greater than"? Change that to 50000 (50 MB)
and all WAVs will be embedded if they don't exceed 50 MB in size.

Sorry Sonia - I should have mentioned that I had already tried that. I also
made sure the presentation and .wav files were all in the same folder (on my
desktop) before I started linking them - but for some reason, it doens't even
look for the desktop file, it keeps trying to go to the original file on the
network drive.

Did you reset the size limit *before* you inserted the WAVs? It isn't
retroactive. Open PowerPoint and then open the presentation file. Locate the
sound icon, right click on it and select Edit Sound Object. Does it say "File:
[Contained in presentation]? If not then it isn't embedded.

HOORAY! I didn't realize that it wasn't retroactive! I deleted the links
and re-insterted and they are all embedded now. Thanks Sonia!

Are you certain you had the actual WAV files and not shortcuts to them on your
desktop?

Have you gone through the unpacking procedure on the
second computer? Look at the Pack and Go help page.
Hope this helps.
