Emails with links not accessible

After setting up Email accounts for my husband and I, we found when my
husband tries to access internet through a link on an Email, he gets a
message reading "Windows can not read". If he forwards the message to
me, I can access the net using the same link. Has anyone experienced this
problem and knows how to fix it.

This is an issue with IE and not with WM.

You can use the following fix which also works for Windows Mail. Select the one for
Vista

I've never heard of anyone getting that specific error. Are you sure
it is a verbatim copy of the error message?

Your husband needs to make sure his Internet Explorer has all its
defaults assigned:
Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Internet
Explorer". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.
