Emails vanishing without trace

With Windows ME and Outlook Express, I used to get about 30 junk mails a day,
which I could check on my BTYahoo mail server for the occasional genuine
item. With a new computer with Vista and WMail, junk has disappeared without
trace - and I know of at least two genuine emails that have not arrived.
I have changed every setting I can find.

I have changed every setting I can find.

For each of the various folders incoming mail can go to, click on the
folder,
then View, then Current View, then Show all Messages.

If that doesn't make the missing messages show up, click on Tools, then
Message Rules, then Mail. Go down the list of rules, clicking on each one.
If a rule calls for deleting mail from someone you want mail from, click
on Remove, then any approvals needed, then go on to the next rule.
After the last rule, click on OK.

Click on Tools, then Junk E-mail Options.. If there is a check mark
in the box before Permanently delete suspected junk e-mail instead of
moving it to the Junk E-mail folder, click on this box and then Apply.
Click on Safe Senders. Add the addresses you are currently losing
mail from to the list, or just the part of the address after @ if you want
mail from any user of that site. Click on Blocked Senders. Go down
the list of addresses, and if you see an address you want mail from,
or even jest the part after @, click on it, then Remove, then any
approvals needed. Click on International, then Blocked Top-Level
Domain list, then Clear All. Go down the list, and if you see a
country you want to block all mail from, click on the box before
it. At the end of the list, click on OK, then Apply. Click on
Blocked Encoding List, then Clear All. Go down the list, and if
you see any language you want to block email in, click on the box
before it. At the end of the list, click on OK and then Apply.
Click on Phishing. If there is no check mark in the box before Move
phishing E-mail to the Junk Mail folder, click on this box and then
Apply. Click on OK.

That may not recover the lost mail, but should avoid losing more.
