Ive read many discussion on this...and found out about the download which I
did and it says "Update does not apply to your system" Someone else had this
same exact problem named Marie...But, I couldnt find where it said how to fix
the problem...I use the 32 download, can I try the other one ? My computer
is 32 byts I found that on the computer..Then also tried to change that 25 to
the 587 ( as I read of here also ) and now the message says " one or more
messages in your outbox do not have a valid acct.specified would you like to
use your default acct to send messages...I have deleted this acct. and
started over many times and still end up with the same results..
And help would be great...Im not very computer savy....Thanks Michele

There is a message in your Outbox you can't delete?
I assume the reason the Microsoft fix (KB941090) can't be applied
is because that fix was also included in Vista's SP1, which you should
already have.
Try dragging that Outbox message to the Deleted Items folder; if that
fails, drag it to the Recycle Bin. If that fails, try running the various repair
functions in the WMUtil program: http://www.oehelp.com/WMUtil

If no improvement, upgrade to Windows Live Mail:
http://download.live.com/wlmail

Well, Actually I can delete them...Thats not the problem...I can't get the
messages to send on ...It just sits in there in the outbox..

That's different. It's best not to post under a misleading subject title.

After emptying the Outbox, send a new test message.
If you get an error message when you try to send, right-click on your
error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.

Okay.. I did what you said...And I didn't think I was using a misleading
subject, I was just trying to respond to a craigslist ad... And I was
sending my dad a message just saying " test ' to see if that one would go
though...So, when I deleted everything and wrote a new response...I didnt
get any error message to copy to you, it now came up for me to verify my
windows live sign in..And the message is just sitting in the outbox...I use
windows live and I want the windows mail to work also for responding to
things like graigslist, and other sites...I dont know how else it works
without both emails..I sure hope this makes sense to you... Because I dont
know how else to explain it.

Oh to give you more info....at top it says "Logon to incoming.verizon.net "
then says at bottom " please verify that both username and password are
correct for you mail server....

In the Servers tab of the account's properties, is "My server requires
authentication" checked?

sure first hide message an then go to empty deleted items folder, this will
permanently remove the item.

Okay, I did everything you told me to do..I checked verizons directions and
that was right.. I hit the cancel button so I could copy and paste the
message, but there wasnt one to copy..The screen was plank...Now, as you can
tell Im not computer smart.. But, could this have anything to do with my
problem.. I have a laptop and run off a router..But when I try to send the
message it pops up for me to verify my user id and password...I noticed that
in the tasks part it said the message failed and something about LAN..Well, I
went into my control panel for network connections and there is a big red X

Sounds like a problem with your LAN connection.
Does your Internet Explorer have any trouble downloading web pages?
If not, check the connection method used in Windows Mail:
Go to Tools, Accounts, select your mail account, Properties, Connection.
What does it show for connection?
You should leave that box unselected, in which case Windows Mail will
use whatever connection IE uses.

Also, under Tools, Options, Connection, the first box should be checked,
and the second box unchecked.
If all that checks out, but you still have the problem, the account may be corrupted.
Delete the account, restart Windows Mail, then recreate the account.

Okay, so many thanks to you Ill try tomorrow, Tonights to late....But, could
this be a problem ( I use verizion.net ) that is their problem to fix for me
???? Or is it my problem to fix ??? This site is amazing...I said I read
though a bunch of stuff to try and fix my problem....And found so many
helpful people and I dont know where you all find this stuff....I give you
all AAAAAAAA..Its amazing to me......You know Microsoft charges $ 59.?? for
help with thier own software, you have to buy help...What is that ?? We
already bought the software........

I know that Verizon has problems, but I am not aware of email problems
recently. You can however look for previous answers in the Verizon Community
Forums, or ask questions there if you need to. See:
