Emails Over 1 megabyte Freezing for short period of time?

A worker i know is using outlook, they seem to be having trouble with emails
over 1 megabyte.
Whenever they go to look or partially highlight the email, the email causes
outlook to freeze/stall for short period of time.
They have a limit on the inbox but they under there limit and always
clearing old emails.
Going to try Help - Detect and Repair, but was also thinking of just
installing newer version.

If anybody has any help for me, please get back to me ASAP.

You are not providing any info to work with.

Version of Outlook?
Type of mail account?
If Exchange; with or without Cached Exchange Mode?
Is this only once for a message or every time you access that message?

If you have a virus scanner that integrates with Outlook, disable this and
try again.
