emails going to inbox being deleted

I am the Exchange 2007 administrator for a small company. I have an
employee who has been with the company for about 3 years who recently is
noticing that when emails come into his inbox that they only stay for about
20 seconds then are deleted. I checked his Outlook 2003 rules and there are
none. I checked for any permissions...none. No delegates. I checked his
mailbox in Exchange and there are no forwarding.

I am wondering if there is such a thing as invisible rules or possibly a
rule that does not show up that was previously removed but is still acting on
his mailbox. In any event, I am at a loss. Has anyone encounter such a
problem?

Are all messages affected or just some? Is the user syncing with a blackberry
or other handheld device? Is the user using a view that hides read messages?

did the user create an acct on a different computer and set it up to use a
PST as the delivery location?

I thought about the BB or PDa side of it and left a voicemail on his
phone...don't know yet. As for a view....didn't think of that. Will check.

Thanks
