Emails disappear when moved to .PST (manual or by rule)

Hello,
I’m having a problem with my emails disappearing when they arrive into my
mailbox. I have some of them set with a rule to move to an archive folder
(.PST). I see them arrive in the inbox then the rule is supposed to move them
to the specified folder. I go to that folder (after I see it arrive then go
away) and they aren’t there. Sometimes it takes 2-3 days and then the just
show up (with the original date received). They also disappear for days when
I move them manually from my inbox to the archive folder. This doesn’t happen
to all of my emails (rules or not) but a majority of them.
My ISP doesn’t offer support of outlook 2003. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Very odd... do you have or use any odd filters on your folders?
 
Not to my knowledge... Everthing is default. I even deleted the archive
folder and all the rules and reentered them thinking I did something wrong,
but no luck..
