emailing xp/2002 word attachment to notes 6.5 user, they cannot v.

I am attempting to email a word document using outlook XP, (office sp3
applied) to a Lotus Notes user. When he receives the file, he is only seeing
a .dat file.

I saved the file in word 6.x version (versus 10.x) and the same result was
reported.

Any Ideas?

SEnd using Plain Text or HTML, not Outlook Rich Text Format.
