I am having difficulty in emailing photos using Vista. Full sized digital
photos will send, but those resized for emailing will not go. No error
messages are received. I have even turned off my firewall in an attempt to
solve the problem. I am having a similar and maybe related problem with a
Kodak EasyShare program running on vista. I do get an error message there:
"Unable to connect with Kodak server."

In the start menu click default progams and click set default progams. Click on windows mail and set as default. From your picture folder click on the picture you want and click email. Size it and click attach. An email will pop up and away you go

I'm having the same problem. I have set windows mail as my default program
but every time I choose photos to email, it resizes no worries but it goes to
outlook which I can not send from. I'm going mad and have been sitting here
all day trying to send 5 photos!

In Default Programs is Windows Mail listed as having ALL (3) of
its defaults?

Unfortunately I have already checked that all the defaults are set , which
they are and it didn't help. I also tried to uncheck the boxes in the out
ook program default but couldn't uncheck the boxes

Thanks for the advice - however - when I "click custom, select Windows Mail
then OK" the setting is not saved. Is there something I can do to make this
work??
Thanks a lot

Try this:
Open the Default Programs applet, then click the first selection:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Windows
Mail". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.

It might be a security program blocking the Registry change it needs to
make. A few, but not all, of the programs now doing this are:
Ad-aware's Ad-Watch
IBM Access Connections
Kaspersky
McAfee VirusScan and/or Antispyware
Norton AV
Spyware Blaster
Spybot> Tools> IE Tweaks
Spybot- Teatimer
Spysweeper
Spyware Doctor
Windows Defender
Zone Alarm (free) 6.5 Reported to be fixed in later versions.

In the case of Zone Alarm 6.5 or Norton 2007 it actually has to be
uninstalled. Make sure the Windows Firewall is turned on until you
reinstall Zone Alarm.

Boot into Safe Mode with Networking and try the change.

Ramesh;
thanks for the info worked well after I follwed your instructions.

Not sure which particular design flaw you are referring to, but most
Windows Mail problems are caused by running non-compatible
security software.
