Emailing attachments from Windows Explorer

Nope, I have been tampering with that myself as well. It is something in the
user profile of Windows since it works again when I log on with a different
user (so you can always clear your Windows Profile to get it fixed again
:-D). Since I never use the Send button I didn't mind that much; I use
CTRL+ENTER to send a message and that still works.

Thanks for reminding me; time for another (failing) attempt to solve it ;-)

I use an up to date XP installation with Outlook 2003, but I have noticed
this problem for a while now even with Outlook XP.

If you use Windows Explorer to email an attachment using the SEND TO EMAIl
RECIPIENT option, Outlook duly fires up a blank email with the attachment
attached, I enter my covering message but when I press send, nothing
happens.

The work around is to save the message, close it and then re-open it from
Outlook's Inbox.

It's quite annoying really - any ideas on how to sort this one out?

Try this: In your C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\SendTo folder, create
a new shortcut to Outlook with the switches that add an attachment:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.EXE" /a %1

Name the shortcut Outlook Message, and you'll be able to right-click a file
and choose Send To | Outlook Message. This also will make sure your default
signature gets into the message.
