everytime I try to open an attachment windows media
player pops up attempting to open them, how do I stop
windows media player from coming up?

We may have either one heck of a post coincidence here or this was duped.
They were three minutes apart. Assuming two posts from two people...

"Save the attachment instead of opening it from it's current location."
