When I email an Excel document from home to work and open
it at work, it will not allow me to make any changes...
the "read only" box is not checked in Properties.

I can open it and read it, but I cannot change or "Save
as."

Thanks for your help!
 
This might be a dumb question, but are you sure you have XL at work and
not the XL viewer? Or a version of XL that is past its product
activation deadline and operating in 'limited capability' mode?

Also, are you saving the mailed attachment to your hard disk and then
opening it? Or opening it by double-clicking it within the email
message?
