I undertsand that it is not possible to send SMS from a regular pocket pc...is this correct? If yes, is there a way I can send a regular "emal text message" from the pocket pc to a cell phone

Yes, you can do this. SMS messages can
be sent via an internet connection. Check out the SMPP component in IP*Works!
