Is is possible to set up a generic email template/draft
for monthly emails? I sent the same email to various
groups (not on the same email) on a monthly basis.

Yes, do you need to send the same each time? Then you can schedule it as

Other approaches:

* turn off WordMail, create a new message, and save it as an .oft file.
* create a new message and save it in the Drafts folder; forward the
draft when you want to create a new instance
