email setup error message

What type of email account?
Please post the entire error message... right-click on it, select Copy, then
paste into a reply here.
 
I am setting up my email account for the 1st time - just purchased new
computer and I am receiving error messages regarding the server setup POP3.
It doesn't seem to complete the setup - please help with more explicit
instructions.
 
Each mail provider has their own setup instructions.
Who provides your mail service?
 
The host 'SMTP' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the
server name correctly.

thanks dave I didn't know you could right click and copy error message!!
I am having the same problem with sending e-mails from anything in microsoft

how do I check to see which ports I should be using...message seems to be
saying I have incorrect ports...I have at&t also mail classic from windows. I
used at&t ports and now they are wrong...so confused
 
If AT&T's former SBC division is your mail provider, follow their setup
instructions:

If you still get an error message after following those instructions,
post the new error message, and let us know the part of your
email address after the @ symbol.
