email server infor does not work

I have a hotmail account but when I want to send photos etc. the computer is
hooked up to an old email account still. I understand that hotmail does not
work with windows but It is linked to my web site. At this point I will just
creat a new email under windows if I have to but it's crazy. I need to be
able to have it link to my email accounts in hotmail. I did go in and change
the email addresses to my new ones and it took them but it does not
recongnize the server. It does not like POP3 or HTTP? Hotmail said it
should be HTTP but it will not take it. They told me I have to purchase
Outlook? Is this true? I get the same message everyone else has that there
are messages in my box that cannot be sent. I need help in english, I am not
terribly computer literate and this is beyond frustrating now. Thanks.
