email sending report error

Report error ox80042108. Operation timed out waiting for a response from the
sneding SMTP server. I get this when emailing a file of 3MB or larger. How
do I expand the time needed to complete sending??
 
You can set that in the Advanced properties of the mail account but first...
are you running anything that's scanning outgoing mail items? If so, have
you tried disabling it as a test?
 
Had Trend Misco Internet Security outgoing mail scan disabled and 3MB file
went right out. Thanks a million. Just in case what specifically do I set
in Advanced properties in the mail account?? Dan. A
 
Tools menu > Email accounts > View/Change existing email accounts > Click
Next > Highlight an account > Click Change > More Settings > Advanced
