Email Reminder from Excel

Is there a way to send an email from excel, based on the dates inside the excel sheet without actually opening an Excel.
For example I have to send the pament to different companies based on the payment due date in excel. I do not open the excel everyday. But I would like to setup something that it will trigger an email about 1 month before the due date

AFAIK it's required to open Excel to do this (or write a different
program that uses Excel's data'. but if you want a VBA solution Excel
has to be open for making this work.
