Email not being rec'd after I send it.

I have Outlook 2003. I use it for personal and business. My business
address is where the problem is. No one I send an email to gets it. They
show up in the sent mail, but are not being received. I have talked to the
isp and it is not with them. Everything checks out fine from their end. I
am using charter for that one. I use verizon for my personal email and that
is working. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks a lot,
Susan

So, your ISP says that they are getting the mail from you and hand it off to
whoever it should be delivered to?

What happens if you mail someone on the same ISP (like, for instance, the
support person)? Does the support person get it?

If they do, then the next step is to have your ISP tell you the address that
they handed your mail off to so you can check with them to try and track
where the messages are getting lost.

Also, verify that you can't mail certain sites like gmail, hotmail and
yahoo. Each of those are easy enough to get free accounts on, that way you
can verify that *no* mail gets through. At that point, I think you have a
pretty good case to go back to Charter and give them the evidence that the
mail you send isn't being received and if they are showing it as being sent
through them properly, then they need to look at who they hand the mail to,
since you would have good evidence that no mail you send is being recieved.

I did try to email the tech and he didn't get it. He sent me a message and I
replied, but he didn't get it.

The verizon account, are you using that on the same machine and in Outlook
as well?

I would first try disabling the email hooks on any Anti-Virus or Firewall
software you have installed and sending mail.

Out of curiousity, was the support tech able to review SMTP logs to see if
the message you sent was actually submitted on their end?

Remove ABCD from Email address to reply

Check your email setup. in the setup do a test email and see if you get it

I did the test email from both accounts and I received them. It is the
sending out I cannot do from my outlook for just the charter account.
I am not sure what the tech checked at charter. He said everything seems to
be working fine on their end.
I will check my virus protection and firewall and see if I can do something
with that.
This is so frustrating!!!
Thanks for all the advice. Something has to work soon.

So who is your ISP, Charter or Verizon?
The reason I ask, most ISPs do not allow you to use
outgoing mail on port 25 unless you are connected to
their network. So, if your Internet connection is through
Verizon, then you can't use Charter's SMTP server.
AFAIK, Charter only offers port 25 for SMTP. Most other
ISPs offer alternate ports such as 587 or 465, which
would not be blocked.
