email is marked opened

In Outlook 2003 whenever I scroll over an email without opening it, the icon
changes from unopened to opened. Been through the settings and can not find
one that will cause it to be left marked unopen.

changes from unopened to opened. Been through the settings and can not find
one that will cause it to be left marked unopen.

Go to Options --> Other --> Reading Pane (Uncheck the items, especially the
first two).
