Email Editor

I need to know how to get Outlook to allow me to tell it to let Word be my
email editor. Apparently when it was set up, something was done and when I
go to the Tools, Options, Email Format tabs and select any of the options in
the drop down box, the options to allow Word to be my editor are grayed and
will not allow me to select one. When Outlook was set up, they still used
Word Perfect.
 
Was outlook installed as part of an office suite? It only works if you have
Word and Outlook from the same office suite.
