We are using Outlook 2002 in a network domain with microsoft exchange
server. One of our computers just started doing this in the last couple
of days. After receiving an email in the inbox, when you reply to that
email, the email disappears and can be found in deleted folder. We
checked the options tab and can't find anything that might have
changed. The guy using the computer is very computer literate and isn't
sure what he might have done to change a setting that would have done
this, any idea where to start

The most likely cause is that you're using the "Unread Messages" view
instead of "Messages".

Except that doesn't place messages in Deleted Items. More likely would be
the "Sort by Icon" view, since that's what actually changes when someone
replies, but that doesn't place messages in Deleted Items either.
Poster's description is either inaccurate or inexplicable.

Yep. I misread that part, seeing "can be found in deleted folder" to be
"can't be found...". Thanks for catching that.

Thanks it appears the Sort by icon is on, which may be half the
problem, other half is that there are 451 messages in this guys inbox,
and it resorted them to the bottom where no one could find them, thanks
for your help

So, they WEREN'T in the Deleted Items folder.

The hard part is figuring out which details are posted accurately and which
are airballs.
